Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of accounts can I open online?
You can complete your application for a personal checking, savings or money market account as well as a Certificate of Deposit (CD). Business accounts cannot be opened online.

Can I open more than one account a time?
Absolutely. Simply select the accounts you wish to open, then click “Apply Now” to open all accounts with a single application.

Do I have to use a computer to apply?
No. You can apply for an account on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

What are the requirements to open an online account at Chambers Bank?
You must be a U.S. citizen who’s at least 18 years of age and has Social Security Number. Additionally, you’ll need a primary form of identification (driver’s license, passport, military ID or state ID).

Why can a minor not open an account online?
The online application process utilizes third party data to validate personal information and credit reporting history by asking knowledge-based authentication questions to confirm the applicant’s identity. Minors do not have the credit reporting background necessary to complete this verification.

What personal information will I be asked during the online account opening process?
In addition to your legal name, we’ll ask for the following information during the account opening process:

  • Social Security Number
  • Date of birth
  • Telephone number
  • E-mail address
  • Employment information
  • Current U.S. residential address (and previous address if you’ve lived there less than 3 years)
  • Primary identification information (driver’s license, passport, military ID or state ID)

What information do I need to open a joint account?
You’ll need the same information that’s required for an individual opening an account, but you’ll need it for both applicants. Both applicants will need to sign the signature card.

How long will it take to complete the online application?
While comfort with technology may vary from person to person, if you have required information on hand, the application should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. A joint application will take additional time. If you’re an existing Chambers Bank customer, you can take advantage of our shortened application. For your security, the system will automatically log you out if there’s no activity for 15 minutes.

Is my online application secure?
The security of your personal information and your online banking transactions are very important to us. We maintain strict security standards and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to your information, including 128-Bit SSL Encryption, Internal Systems Encryption, and firewalls.

How do I do my initial deposit to open an account?
Accounts opened online have two funding options: (1) internal transfer from an existing Chambers Bank checking or savings account; or (2) mailing a personal check to Chambers Bank, Attn: Customer Care, PO Box 609, Danville AR 72833.

It takes about 2-3 business days for an electronic opening deposit to be credited to your account.

After starting an application, can I exit and resume the application later?
Yes. You may log in and complete your application later. If there is no activity on your application after 30 days, your application will be canceled.

What can I expect after the application is submitted?
After you’ve completed and submitted your application, you will receive an ‘Application Status’ email, which will give you directions on how to proceed. To ensure that you get this email, check your spam filters and that emails from chambers.bank aren’t blocked.

If we are unable to verify your identity through the online process, you may be required to submit additional documentation to open an account. Once we receive all necessary documents and are able to verify your information, we’ll let you know via email that your account has been opened.

Existing Chambers Bank customers can log on and view your new checking or savings account(s) online. If you’re new to Chambers, you can register for online banking via the homepage on our website.

If I am already a Chambers Bank customer, will I be required to provide copies of ID, social security card and proof of address?
Once your application has been submitted, we will reach out to you if additional information is required. Upon review, you will receive an email with the status of your application.

Why is my personal information and documentation required?
When you apply for an account, government regulations require that we ask for identification such as address, date of birth and Social Security Number to verify your identity. This information is not used for any other purpose.

How long will it take before I know my account has been opened?
Depending on the method of funding, your approval status, and whether we have received all necessary information, your account will be opened within two business days.  We will update you by email on the process of your account opening.

How long until I receive my debit card and/or checks?
You will receive your debit card and/or checks 7-10 business days after your account is opened. Need a debit card sooner? Instant-issue debit cards are available in every market where we have a branch.
