Scam Alert: Fraudulent Texts and Calls Claiming to Be From Chambers Bank
We have received reports of a scam currently targeting customers through text messages and phone calls that appear to come from a Fort Smith, Arkansas phone number.
In this scam, customers receive a text message asking whether they authorized a charge in Houston, Texas for more than $300. If the customer replies “N” for no, they immediately receive a phone call from the same number.
During the call, the scammer asks for sensitive debit card information, including:
-
The last seven digits of the debit card number
-
The card expiration date
-
The CVV/security code on the back of the card
This is a scam. Do not provide this information.
Chambers Bank Will Never Ask for This Information
As a reminder, Chambers Bank will never call you and ask for information we already have, including your debit card number, expiration date, CVV/security code, online banking password, or other sensitive account information.
We do partner with Falcon Fraud to help monitor debit card activity. However, legitimate Falcon Fraud messages will include the last four digits of the debit card in question and provide a case number.
